Antique 1848 Scrimshaw Whale, Whaling Ship, Powder Horn Many Etchings Mermaid 🧜‍♀️. I was surprised to find this amazing historical item at my local tailgate auction in Highstown ,New Jersey. It is approximately 13” long . End covers are missing. There are multiple holes from every side. I saw 2 sailboats two dates and multiple animals and marine engravings. Beautiful historical piece. +1848+J+C+H+ engraving on the top. I’m not sure if it is personal initials or ship name. Please note : this item is sold as is as found.
