Description
Two 1940 designed and patented utility safety knives – very popular during WW2 and used by professionals and home-owners. As durable as August Lurie who invented the knives, he founded Modern Specialties Inc. in Chicago in 1930 and worked there every day until age 94. Included with the knife is a copy of the original 1940 patent drawing for “Utility Knife” U.S. Patent 2,187,590, a⅜" wrench for the holding nuts
and 20-spare blades
.
They are unique in that various shaped blades can be safely stored in its handle. One knife has been cleaned, polished and restored, the other knife has normal wear and use.
