1800's Hand Stitched Quilt ~Old World Santa ~Toys ~ Jack in the Box

Description

This Old Santa is attached firmly to a wood base and stands 20". The trim on the base was found in the attic of a 1920's Inn, that my family just purchased. The old Santa is dressed in a 1800's handmade quilt. I added red fringe to his coat. Remember the quilt is very old so there are imperfections.
I added a string of baubles that dangling from his shoulder. A vintage blue bell and a cone bag that holds a Ezrebirgh house, tree and handmade doll hangs from his belt. He holds a handmade teddy lightly worn. I made a wood box that holds a paper clay Jester.
All my Santa's feature handmade antique recreated blends of the old with the new, somethings found and somethings made. Each item is created to bring to life those precious novelties and toys of an era long gone.  All amusingly arranged, full of whimsy and surprise.
